COURSE OUTLINE
The course consists of plenary sessions as well as smaller group workshops. The workshops will deal in-depth with specific areas of anesthetic
practice using a case or problem-based format. Registration for these sessions will be based on order of preference and availability. The Faculty
consists of invited speakers and McGill University Faculty, all with extensive experience in their respective fields. Montreal is a cosmopolitan city
with a distinctive European flavour. It is renowned for its hospitality, great restaurants, tourist attractions and elegant shopping areas.
This year’s venue is the McIntyre Medical Sciences building of McGill University, Faculty of Medicine.

Simulation is becoming increasingly
integrated into all levels of medical education. This half-day course offers the opportunity to:
1) Practice managing anesthetic emergencies
using full patient simulation and real clinical
teams
2) Increase your non-technical skills and
improve your ability to manage anesthetic
emergencies efficiently and effectively
3) Undergo simulated clinical scenarios based
on actual, real life serious untoward incidents
4) Learn about human error and how to
prevent it be debriefed following scenarios
5) Using videotapes of the simulation sessions
in an informal atmosphere under the guidance
of an experienced faculty
Come and experience our state-of-the-art
facility. The participants should be practicing
anesthesiologists who want to review and
improve their skills in addressing critical
situations which can occur in their daily
practice.
The maximum number of participants is six.
